Sunny Hills Foundation for Education

SHFE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that was established in January 2007 by a group of parents. The group recognized the need for an independent fundraising body to support the students of SHHS.

To date, SHFE has received over $300,000 in parent contributions, business donations, employer matching funds, and grants. The Foundation has since granted SHHS over $250,000 in educational equipment and programs according to a prioritized wish list provided by the individual departments.

Our belief is that the faculty and administration must develop a global strategy to raise the educational bar for students to be successful. Please join our Lancer families in building SHHS into the unquestioned top campus in the region.

Monthly Board Meetings

Monthly board meetings are held on campus in Room 1 at 3:30pm on the second Wednesday of every month between September and May. Board meetings are open to those interested in learning about the foundation and volunteering.

As a community, we can continue to provide our teachers and staff with the very best in educational equipment and facilities that will benefit our students.  State funding alone is not enough, but together we can make it happen in ways we could not imagine just a few years ago. Goals and Objective

It is the vision of the Sunny Hills Foundation for Education (SHFE) that Sunny Hills High School (SHHS) educates the whole child. Our goal is working with the teachers to provide them with the tools necessary to enhance existing programs as well as to implement new and creative opportunities for learning.

The disbursement of funds raised is divided as equally as possible among the twelve departments at SHHS including Agriculture, Business, Performing Arts, Physical Education, ROP, Special Education, and Visual Arts. Our plan is providing financial support and a fresh perspective that will result in a collaborative educational environment with students, teachers, and administrators as partners in success.

Join our team!

We are an amazing group of SHHS parents and supporters who partner with the school leadership to ensure our kids and teachers are well resourced. Please consider joining us! The SHFE is currently in need of volunteers to fill key positions and actively participate in other functional areas including fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and communications. We are currently in search of volunteers interested in filling the following vacancies: 



Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Works closely with the Treasurer, V.P. of Disbursement, and other financial officers;
  • Verifies the books and financial records of the corporation (SHFE) semi-annually for audit purposes;
  • Prepares a written report for adoption by the Board of Directors within 2 months of each audit;
  • Researches any issues regarding compliance to the law, Bylaws and regulations.
