Sunny Hills Foundation for Education

SHFE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that was established in January 2007 by a group of parents. The group recognized the need for an independent fundraising body alongside PTSA that could target donations to individual classrooms and teachers.

To date, SHFE has received over $300,000 in parent contributions, business donations, employer matching funds, and grants. The Foundation has since granted SHHS over $250,000 in educational equipment and programs according to a prioritized wish list provided by the individual departments.

WHY SHFE? Why not ptsa?

We operate alongside and in cooperation with PTSA. PTSA creates projects that benefit the school as a whole, whereas the Foundation can target donations to specific classrooms and teacher projects.

Thank you for supporting Sunny Hills High School through the outstanding work of our Foundation. This amazing organization allows you to directly enhance your student's school day in a variety of ways. The Foundation is a way to assist in targeting the creative vision of our teachers in the classroom and helping to improve our campus overall. When innovative teachers want to go above and beyond, the SHFE has always been there to supplement the great funding our district always provides. You have the ability to make our amazing teachers even more powerful in providing the world-class learning that makes SH so amazing. Your partnership with our Foundation definitely makes a difference!


Monthly Board Meetings

Monthly board meetings are held on campus in Room 1 at 4:00pm on the second Monday of every month between September and May. We always take time to welcome interested parents, so come join us to learn more about what we do.

Goals and Objectives

Our vision is to help classroom teachers at Sunny Hills High School (SHHS) to educate the whole child. Our goal is working with the teachers to provide them with the tools necessary to enhance existing programs as well as to implement new and creative opportunities for learning.

For general donations, our disbursement is divided among the twelve departments at SHHS including Agriculture, Business, Performing Arts, Physical Education, ROP, Special Education, and Visual Arts.

We are an amazing group of SHHS parents and supporters who partner with the school leadership to ensure our kids and teachers are well resourced. Please consider joining us! The SHFE is currently in need of volunteers to fill key positions and actively participate in other functional areas including fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and communications.
